Manly Morning Sandwich

Ladies will definitely like this sandwich, too.

In the interest of giving credit where credit is due, I must thank the woman tending to the Petit Chat Bakery stand at the Liberty Lake Farmer’s Market for planting the seed that grew into this sandwich.  Whilst off on Croissant Quest 2012 (more on that later), I came across this fantastic loaf of cranberry rosemary bread.  Intrigued, I purchased a loaf, and the woman who sold it to me suggested that it’d be a great medium for a fantastic turkey sandwich.

Wanting to elaborate on the simple turkey sandwich, I saved this loaf of bread for use on Father’s Day and made a bomb-diggity breakfast BLT, which I am now calling the manly morning sandwich because it is quite hearty.  In all, this sandwich includes not only turkey, but bacon, avocado, arugula, goat cheese, and tomatoes amongst other things.  Feel free to mix and match ingredients to your heart’s content.  Whatever you choose, you’re sure to be well-fueled for the day ahead!

Manly Morning Sandwich

Makes One Sandwich

2 slices bread of your choosing (I suggest choosing something very flavorful with lots of herbs)

2-3 slices of bacon

1 small tomato, sliced

1/2 sliced avocado

1/3 cup arugula

1/8-1/4 lb sliced turkey

1 Tbs. goat cheese

1 plate

1 serrated knife

1 cutting board

To Make the Sandwich:

Load all of your ingredients onto one of the slices of bread, then top with the other slice of bread.  That’s it.  Enjoy!

    • Outstanding idea! May I suggest hitting up the Public Market downtown for some bread, produce, and a wee cheesecake to go with you meal? And maybe laser tag, too, since that’s also in that neighborhood.
